Full Flavor Pork Curry

Hello my friends,
Today I am going to cook  The Full Flavor Pork Curry and it is based on the book of  Mi Mi Khaing "COOK AND ENTERTAIN THE BURMESE WAY".
When I cook this curry, I remember how my mother cooked the pork curry for my family.
Therefore thanks to my Mama and Mi Mi Khaing.
It will look like this:


let's start by getting the ingredients.

  1. Pork with lean 250 g
  2. One middle side of onion
  3. One middle side of tomato
  4. A whole bulb garlic 
  5. A bit of ginger
  6. A bit of lime
  7.  A tablespoon fish sauce 
  8. A tablespoon thick soy sauce
  9. A tablespoon fruit vinegar
  10. 1/2 cup of olive or peanut oil
  11. 1/2 teaspoon salt and
  12. A bit of  leek or coriander.

Lean Pork in 2-inches cubes












Onion, tomato, garlic, ginger and
  lime












Fish sauce














A thick soy sauce











A fruit vinegar











Olive oil














Now, we have all the ingredients and let's cook.
In the first step, mix oil, vinegar, soy sauce, lime and salt with pork. Mix throughly for some time then keep it for 10 minutes.














In second step,  Crush the ginger and garlic using a blender or you can crush them as I did. At the same time you must cut the onion and tomatoes then mix all of them with the pork and pour the oil at the end.






















In the third step, you must put it in a pot and cook for 5 minutes then mix 1/2 liter of water and cover tightly and cook the pork till tender.
When tender, stir gently and turn down the heat when the curry is thick dark red-brown and shows clean oil on top of the gravy or essence.
































         
Put a bit of leet or corianders on the top and enjoy the full flavor pork curry now.
It goes fine with rice or any kinds of noodle.

Tomato Salad with Peanuts

Hello my friends,
today I am going to make Tomato Salad with Peanuts.
Therefore I prepared all the ingredients for my new dish.
Here are my ingredients and you can see them in the pictures.

Four green tomatoes or four red tomatoes











Baked peanuts 90 g











Two onions











Olive oil 40 ml











A bit of soy sauce











A bit of salt











A bit of chili powder











Now, we have all the ingredients that we need and we can make the salad.

First step, you must cut four tomatoes and an onion in flat thin shapes. Then cut an onion in small tiny pieces.














Second step, you must crush the peanuts using a blender or you can crush them as I did.


Third step, you must bake the small tiny pieces of onion in a pan until they become golden yellow and smell good.


When you finished to fry the onions put all ingredients in different plates and prepare on your table. There is the baked golden onion in the white bowl.


lets mix it all together in a bowl but not all the chili.. Hahaha



Now we are ready to eat our delicious tomato salad and it is going well with green tea.

The Gram Dal Tofu Salad (Myanmar Style)

Hallo my friends! I made the Tofu yesterday and now I am going to make the Tofu salad (Myanmar style).

Before we make the Tofu salad we need the some ingredients and you can see it as follow,

  1. Soy sauce
  2. Soy beans powder
  3. Curcuma powder
  4. Onion
  5. Garlic
  6. Peanut oil or Olive Oil
  7. Chili powder
  8. Salt
  9. Cabbage
  10. Coriander
  11. Tamarind
  12. Rice noodle
  13. Potato
Okay, now, you have everything and we can start to make salad.

  1. Now you must cut the Tofu in small pieces and put it on a plate and cut the cabbage, garlic, coriander and a onion in small pieces,



2. At the same time, you must heat a bit of peanut oil in a pot. Then you mix a bit of curcuma powder in it when you see the powder being completely mixed in the hot oil,  add half of an onion and the garlic pieces that you cut. After 2 minute, you can see the of onion and garlic getting yellow. Now you can stop the heating.
You take the three spoons of water, a tea spoon of salt, the rest of the half garlic and onion and mix it in to a small cup. At the same time, you can put the fried onion and garlic aside of the soy beans powder on a plate.


      3. You must boil a potato for 15 minutes and a bit of rice noodle for 3 minutes then you cut the potato in a round shape and prepare in a bowl and also the rice with Tofu pieces in a bowl.  At the same time, you can make the cream of tamarind with hot water in a bowl.
There is also the chili powder and you can see it all on table as follow. Here you can see all the ingredients.


Now, everything is ready and you can make a wonderful Tofu salad.
First, you put the Tofu pieces, rice noodle and potato as you see.


Put the coriander and cabbage as you like.


You can put a bit of chili on the plate and a tea spoon of all the other ingredients and you can put also some soy sauce on it.

Gram Dal Tofu (Myanmar style)

Before I start I want to say thanks to Skype which made it possible to make a cheap call around the world to ask my neighbor in Mingun Village for the recipe.

To make Gram Dal Tofu 


  • 12 kyatthar or 200g Gram Flour
  • 700 ml Cold Water
  • a pinch of salt


  1. Now you can start make the Gram Dal Tofu. You pour the Gram flour and the cold water in to a pot and mix thoroughly.
